Harmonizing God's Divine Tapestry through Science and Religion
🌿 Devotional: The First Adam and the Last Adam — From Death to Life
“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:22 (NIV)
👤 Adam: The First Man
Adam was the first human God created, formed from the dust and given life by God’s breath (Genesis 2:7). He walked in perfect fellowship with God — until he chose disobedience. Through that one act, sin entered the world, bringing death and separation from God for all humanity.
“Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.”
— Romans 5:12
✝️ Jesus: The Last Adam
Jesus is called the “last Adam” because He came to undo the curse that the first Adam brought.
-
Where Adam failed, Jesus was faithful.
-
Where Adam disobeyed, Jesus obeyed — even unto death.
-
Through Adam came death; through Jesus comes life.
“The first man, Adam, became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:45
⚖️ Two Representatives — Two Outcomes
“Just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.”
— Romans 5:18
🌎 Why This Matters for Us
We are born into Adam — inheriting sin and death.
But through faith, we are reborn into Christ — receiving righteousness and eternal life.
You don’t have to stay in the legacy of Adam. Jesus offers you a new birth, a new identity, and a new destiny.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
🧠 Analogy: Two Family Trees
Imagine two family trees.
The first starts with Adam — broken, sinful, dying.
The second begins with Christ — redeemed, restored, alive.
You can’t be in both trees.
You were born into the first — but by faith, you can be grafted into the second.
🙏 Prayer
“Father, thank You that even though I was born into the sin of Adam, You sent Jesus to give me new life. I believe in His obedience, death, and resurrection. Help me walk in the righteousness of Christ — not in the failure of the flesh. Let my life be a reflection of the new creation You’ve made me. Amen.”
